Dr. Debra Klinger-Rosenfeld is a NYS licensed clinical psychologist. She graduated with honors in Psychology from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld received a Masters degree in Developmental Psychology and a Doctorate of
Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University. While in graduate school, Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld taught undergraduate courses in general psychology, child psychology and adolescent psychology. Additionally, Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld has been an adjunct professional, teaching personality assessment to graduate students at SUNY New Paltz. Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld did her predoctoral internship at Ulster County Mental Health Clinic where she served as a “Generalist” working both for the Child and Family unit as well as the Adult Crisis unit.
Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld began her court-related work during graduate school when she provided therapy to adults who had experienced intimate partner violence and were court ordered to participate in psychotherapy services. While at her predoctoral
internship, Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld performed court-ordered evaluations on adolescents facing juvenile offense charges. In her post-doctoral work, Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld spent fifteen years conducting court ordered parental fitness evaluations as a contractor for Orange County Department of Social Services. She has also provided court-related services such as therapeutic supervised visitation and clinical mediation for families involved in Orange County Family Court.
Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld’s professional work has centered around three clinical populations; families involved with legal issues, children and adolescents, and adults in crisis. Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld has been in private practice since 1997, initially working as
a solo practitioner and in 2010 establishing a small group practice; Goshen Psychology, PLLC. Presently, Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld manages the administrative function of her practice while being a direct therapy service provider and supervisor of a small clinical staff. Goshen Psychology, PLLC provides psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families from in and around Orange County, New York.
Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld has obtained advanced post-doctoral training in conducting child custody evaluations as well as in clinical topics related to court issues such as resist/refuse dynamics, intimate partner violence, court testimony for mental health professionals, relocation, parenting children with special needs, effects of divorce and separation on children, etc. Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld has received certification as a child custody evaluator and is listed as an approved mental health provider for the state of New York’s first and second judicial departments. Dr. Klinger-Rosenfeld has conducted over 350 court order evaluations and has testified in a percentage of these cases. She has also served as a trial consultant as well as an independent reviewer of other custody evaluator’s work products/reports.
